I am an Artist! I love making Art in all of its forms and to me cooking is an Art. I have been inspired by gardening and all the fresh fruits and veggies that I am growing or going to my favorite Farmers Market and getting delicious fresh produce.
I have decided to start adding recipes a couple times a week to my Blog and I will be recording me making some of them for the more visual learners (which is what I am) and uploading to my youtube
I thought today I would start with one of the easiest and tastiest recipes I love and have loved since I was a child. It is great for children to get them to eat their veggies and my kids loved it and I would use it as a side with dinner instead of a salad, sometimes they would eat more veggies that way! But don’t misunderstand me when I say kids love it, adults love it too as it is my go to dip I eat for lunch and still with my dinner!
CATALINA VEGGIE DIP
1 pkg block of cream cheese
1 small bottle of Catalina salad dressing
a dash of salt and pepper
Mix in blender, food processor or hand mixer
It will turn a beautiful smooth light orange color! AND THATS IT! Cover and chill until you are ready to use it OR eat then!
>Use low fat or fat free cream cheese if watching what you eat and want lower fat and calories-still DEEEEELICIOS!
>The Catalina dip comes in a light form (I use Kraft) and that also helps with the calories and fat and doesn’t change any of the taste
>It works well with any veggies!! Even cucumbers! Just peel them slice them in half long wise and scoop out seeds and slice up! SOO good and refreshing!
> SO GREAT TO DOUBLE FOR A GREAT BBQ WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY AND VERY INEXPENSIVE!
If you try this please leave me a comment on what you think and if you added anything to it like red pepper flakes or something that added some pizazz! Please share this too as I think there are so many foodies out there who love finding easy, inexpensive and healthier recipes to try and to enjoy especially in these hot summer months!
